Stalmine Primary school continues to monitor news and guidance in relation to the coronavirus in order to be best informed in how to support our whole school community.
Stalmine Primary school has been using specific guidance from the DfE and Public Health England, alongside further guidance from the NHS and the local authority.

Opening hours: 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm, weekends
The main message from Public Health England is on personal hygiene and all pupils, staff and visitors are being encouraged to maintain good hand, respiratory and personal hygiene. The NHS website has more information about how coronavirus is spread and advises reducing risk through:
- cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
- put used tissues in the bin immediately
- wash your hands with soap and water often – use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
- try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
- do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
As of 12/3/20 advice regarding the virus and symptoms changed:
Stay at home for 7 days if you have
- a high temperature
- a new, continuous cough

We appreciate that some of this advice may be incredibly difficult on a practical level, especially with Stalmine being a small community with limited access to amenities such as pharmacies, supermarkets and effective transport links. Therefore, should you find yourself needing to self-isolate and in difficulty - please get in touch with school via phone or dojo.
